In the words of Charles and Eddie – would we lie to you?
No, we wouldn’t.
Here at Bouncepad, we’re all about keeping it straight and simple. By the end of this guide, you’ll know exactly which tablet stand – Click or Eddy – is the perfect fit for your needs.
Ready? Let’s get into it (no more 90s music references, we promise!)
1. Main Features Comparison
Click Features
If you need to move the tablet around frequently, then Click is your best bet. You can undock the tablet with a quick click of a button or turn of a key, depending on how much security you need. It’s a highly flexible tablet stand with a micro-suction base that’s ideal for temporary installations or easy movement.
Eddy Features
Eddy is a fixed stand that’s designed to stay in one place. You can mount it to a counter or leave it freestanding using the friction base. You secure the tablet to the stand with adjustable jaws, for maximum flexibility.
2. Look & Feel
Click
Click has a minimalist design with a simple form and a quick-release mechanism. With its clean lines and understated style, it’s ideal for any environment, including high-end spaces like boutiques or hotel reception desks, as well as offices and events.
The Click has a lightweight design and is made from die-cast aluminium, nylon and TPE rubber, making it look and feel premium.
Eddy
The Eddy is a robust stand that’s built to handle wear and tear, making it ideal for busy spaces like checkout counters and self-service kiosks. It also has a bold design that fits in with a modern, stylish decor. It’s available in a wide variety of colours to suit your style.
3. Security Features
Click
Click is a secure docking station. Simply un-dock the tablet using the quick release button. And when leaving unattended, you can lock the tablet in place with the turn of a key, disabling the quick release button and securing the tablet. For added security, if you’re not mounting Click to a surface, you can attach a Kensington MicroSaver lock to secure the entire stand.
Eddy
Eddy works a bit differently. You simply place the tablet in-between the spring-loaded extending jaws. You then release the jaws to clasp the tablet and turn the provided allen key locking the jaws in place and securing the tablet. Once it’s secured, it’s tamper-proof from snatch and grab theft. Eddy is also compatible with the Kensington MicroSaver, useful if you cannot fix Eddy to a counter.
3. Ease of Use
Click
The Click has a 340° rotating base, so you can smoothly share the screen with customers or between staff. You can quickly undock the tablet and hand it to people too, making it great for quick interactions. You can dock the tablet in portrait or landscape to meet your needs.
Eddy
Eddy rotates 350° and also tilts over 90°. This makes it perfect if you need to share different angles for viewing, such as at a POS counter or reception desk. However, you can only mount your tablet in landscape mode with Eddy.
5. Compatibility
Click
The Click tablet stand is universally compatible, which means it works with any tablet size from the smallest ones to big models like the iPad Pro. If you’ve got a mix of older and new tablets, then Click is ideal as it’ll hold any of them, by securing the tablet to a “puck” that clicks into the base. The tablet is securely attached to the puck using a strong self-adhesive pad.
Eddy
The Eddy stand works with most 7” to 13” tablets, including all iPads and Samsung Galaxy models. The Eddy also includes foam inserts to make sure the tablet fits snugly between Eddy’s adjustable jaws, but there’s a limit to what they can handle. If your tablets fall outside the upper size limit, then Click might be the safer bet.
6. Cable Management
Click
The Click has built-in cable grips to keep things neat and secure. The cable management system works even when the tablet’s undocked, so you avoid wires dangling all over the place.
Eddy
Eddy keeps all your cables managed using cable clips to keep everything tidy. Your counter or reception desk will look tidy and professional, making it perfect for fixed setups where you want a polished look.
7. Pricing
Click
The Click tablet stand retails at £140.00 ex. VAT. The extra cost is for the undocking feature that makes Click so versatile. If you need to move your tablet in and out of the stand, the click unlock functionality is worth the extra cost.
Eddy
The Eddy tablet stand comes in at £120.00 ex. VAT. Eddy’s built for businesses that want a reliable, long-term solution in one spot. It’s slightly more affordable because it doesn’t have the same level of portability.
8. Use Cases
Click
The Click is perfect for interactive setups, such as customer service desks, queue management, or portable POS systems. Basically, it works well when your team needs to move the tablet around quickly.
For example, Click might come in useful during guided sales in a boutique or check-in at a reception desk.
Eddy
Eddy’s more of a workhorse, making it perfect for high-traffic areas like retail stores, cafes, or anywhere you need a permanent setup, such as a fixed POS station.
Eddy is great for busy, high-traffic places like a popular cafe or grocery store where things can get hectic.
Summary
The dock-and-go functionality of the Click makes it great for flexible setups where you want to move the tablet around from person to person.
The less flexible, but more durable design of Eddy is built for high-traffic environments, such as busy retail stores or cafes.
